Access for More
The Parks and Wildlife Service and the Friends of the Cape to Cape Track have jointly built a 3.7 km section of the Track between the Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse and Sugarloaf Rock Carpark, to standards that make it accessible for people with a wide range of physical disability. This section caters for wheelchair access and for others of limited mobility such as the elderly, those in gophers and parents with prams or pushers.
Other sections of the Track that currently accommodate wheelchairs / prams / frames etc. include:
All work done meets Parks ands Wildlife Service Standards for wheelchair access especially with regard to the width, the surface and the gradients involved.
Upgrades to the Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse complex by Geographe Bay Tourism Association and Sugarloaf car park by Parks and Wildlife Service have included universal access toilet facilities at each end. These are accessible to the public 24 hours a day.
Persons with ‘lesser’ disabilities wishing to walk, may contact Parks and Wildlife Servicefor advice on those sections of the Track may suit their needs.
